The total acreage of Moonlight Village is 349 acres. Per Salem City code, Open Space, a master planned community must provide a minimum of 15% of the total community area as open space. This requires Moonlight Village to allocate 51.6 acres of open space to achieve the minimum set by Salem City. Moonlight Village exceeds the City requirement by providing 102.5 acres of HOA and City parks and open space that are all dedicated for passive and active uses. The 102.5 acres are equivalent to 29% of the total community area. The wetlands are an additional 50.5 acres totaling 14% of the total community area. The grand total of the open space provided for Moonlight Village is 153.27 acres or 43% of the total community area. In addition to providing the wetlands, Moonlight Village will also activate the open space by including the trails, educational nodes, and benches to ensure the usability for the enjoyment of the community.

Included in the HOA Open Space will be a clubhouse and amenity center for the residents of Moonlight Village. The clubhouse will act as a gathering place for resident. The amenity center will include a pool and restroom facility as well as areas for BBQs and picnics.
